Klinik Primer is a primary health clinic under university hospital. It provides comprehensive outpatient services.

Planned to be use in research entitled ‘Identifying Palliative Care Needs, Symptoms and Concerns among Older Primary Care Patient attending Klinik Primer HCTM - A Cross-Sectional Study’

The Ministry of Health is the main healthcare provider, offering primary, secondary and tertiary levels of care across the country.
The Ministry of Health utilizes the SPICT Tool across all levels of its services and facilities to identify palliative care needs. This includes primary care clinics, as well as secondary and tertiary care services nationwide.

Specifically, the SPICT Tool is used in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) clinics within primary care to identify and initiate timely palliative care and domiciliary palliative care. It is also utilized in various clinics within secondary and tertiary care facilities.

We provide Home Care Service by one Doctor and 5 nurses with the aim to ensure that the patient is made as comfortable as possible so that  the patient's quality of life is enhanced.

This includes:
Pain and other symptoms management
Nursing care for example insertion / change of feeding tubes, urine catheter etc.,
Training care-giver on basic nursing care, such as home dressing, care of tubes, handling of patients, Understand psycho-social & spiritual issues faced and provide advice, counselling if when necessary
Discuss advanced care plan at a suitable time and Bereavement support.

Other services include Day Care Services, Medical equipment loan, Education, Awareness programs.

Our Charitable and non-profit organisation has been in existence for last 29 years and gradually improving in size and areas of coverage. To date we have served 7450 patients with an average of 12 home visits per patient. We are looking into further improving our standards of care, within our limited resources.

Specialized palliative unit that offers inpatient, outpatient, walk-in and consult service.

Other services includes regular visits to a number of non specialist hospitals and local clinics.

We just started introducing SPICT in consult service ( in non palliative units) to identify patients with palliative care needs for palliative referrals or to initiate goals of care discussion by primary team.

Will gradually also introduce this at the community/ health clinics setting soon
