In Ireland we are starting several SPICT projects. One of the projects is linked to the GP training programme in Trinity College Dublin.

This study, based in 4 GP sites, will be using SPICT as a way of identifying frail patients to support the introduction of Think Ahead (an end of life planning tool).

Another GP practice is at earlier phase of development – they are hoping to see if using the prompts on SPICT can be integrated into the GP software packages to identify patients with palliative care needs.
